What's your new role about?

As a LR Engineer within DAZN's Technology & Product Engineering team, DAZN is seeking a talented, Sr LR Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of streaming applications for the LR platform. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in LR development using vanilla TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5/CSS, with a passion for creating high-quality, engaging streaming experiences for users. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative streaming solutions.

This role is full-time, based in our Hyderabad, India office, 5 days a week WFO.

As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Join the team behind the DAZN 1.0 app, a dynamic JavaScript & HTML application delivering content on Android TV, Fire TV, and Panasonic devices.
  • Engage in close collaboration with UX Designers, Product Managers, and a variety of other teams across DAZN, enriching our product with your unique insights.
  • Be an integral part of a passionate team, taking full ownership of your development area from concept to delivery.
  • Drive our DevOps culture forward through rapid deployment and data-driven optimization, significantly impacting our product ecosystem with your contributions.
  • Participate in every phase of the product's lifecycle, gaining a holistic view of our development process and contributing to our continuous evolution.

Essential Expertise & Proficiencies:

  • 3+ years In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, ideally with hands-on experience with modern frameworks
  • Background in business-level application development using React.js, Vanilla JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML5.
  • Openness to on-device development. You'll frequently need to test your code directly on physical devices, like Amazon Fire TV or Panasonic TV.
  • Willingness to explore manufacturers SDKs, either via specific documentation, per-platform debugging or communication with external partner. 
  • Good knowledge of software design patterns 
  • Solid understanding of HTTP Rest APIs
  • Experience with Git
  • Intermediate proficiency in English

Nice to Have:

  • JavaScript / HTML5 development experience on TV’s, set-top boxes or gaming consoles
  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration systems (CI/CD)
  • Experience with AWS Services
