What's your new role about?

DAZN North America is looking for a seasoned, creative, and strategic Head of Digital for DAZN North America. In this position you will manage the DAZN North American social team as well as DAZN’s North American publishing units. This role will be responsible for design and implementation of a social strategy that is aligned with the North American content plan. In addition to managing DAZN’s social operation, you will team the publication leads to define a distinct editorial strategy for each publication. The role will be based in New York with regular trips to Charlotte, NC, where the publishing operation is based.
 
At the outset, you will be tasked with creating and executing a well-researched social media plan that drives awareness, acquisition, retention, and revenue for DAZN. Once approved, you will be responsible for executing and delivering the plan. 
 
You will also be the territory’s main liaison with social platforms. You will lead external conversations with these companies; a strong network of connections at Facebook, Instagram, Twitter SnapChat, YouTube, TikTok and other platforms is a must. As part of your remit, you will be responsible for spearheading partnership opportunities and be in daily communication with the aforementioned platforms. Additionally, you must be well-connected and attuned to industry trends to ensure DAZN is following social media best practices.
 
Day to day you will be responsible for oversight of the DAZN social team. You will oversee long-lead projects to ensure the social media plan you designed is being effectively implemented, while being nimble enough to pivot when necessary. 
 
As head of the publishing units, each publication lead will report into the Head of Digital. Day-to-day management of the publications will be handled by the editorial leads, but the Head of digital will ensure publication content output supports DAZN’s initiatives. Moreover, you will be tasked with identifying synergy opportunities for the publications and DAZN. This will be achieved through regular communication with editorial leads.  
 
This position sits under the content organization and works closely across all departments. A large part of this role will involve liaising with sales, marketing, distribution and PR to ensure social channels and publications are being effectively leveraged to meet the overall business goals of DAZN North America.
  
The ideal candidate for this role will be equal parts: data-driven thinker, communicator, idea generator, people manager.
 
HERE’S A BREAKDOWN OF WHAT YOU’LL DO (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)
 
Design and implement a social media plan that drives awareness, acquisition, retention and revenue for DAZN.
Manage DAZN social team and create unique, entertaining content that performs on multiple platforms that engages viewers/fans throughout the day.
Work in tandem with studio show and live event production teams to complement their broadcasts through social execution and online story publication.
Liaise with other DAZN departments to ensure business goals are being fulfilled.
Oversee DAZN publication business with an eye toward leveraging the publications to generate awareness of DAZN and its properties.
Continuously find ways to grow publications’ digital footprint through SEO, social promotion and syndication.
 
DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience working or managing a social media unit within a media organization.
Experience running an editorial operation at a senior level.
Deep curiosity for what works/doesn't work in the social media space.
Experience utilizing social media measuring platforms/tools to advance goals.
Willingness to travel and work overtime, on nights, weekends or holidays, and be engaged remotely as circumstances require.
Must work well in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
