This role will let you be hands-on to satisfy your engineering desires while stepping into a management role. Apart from your technical responsibilities, you will feel comfortable in providing some level of coaching and mentoring to team members.

You will work on a daily basis with popular and modern tools such as AWS (including S3, ECS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, ECS, API Gateway, Elasticache and Cloudfront), Terraform, ElasticSearch, NodeJS, TypeScript, NestJS, Serverless framework and many others.

  • Develop / maintain backend services in our Engagement and Mobile Domain.
  • Support other developers with their day-to-day work
  • Deliver high quality, robust and testable code adhering to internal engineering procedures, code conventions and development methodologies
  • Design architecture for new features along with architects
  • Contribute to comprehensive documentation that supports the development and support lifecycles
  • Work to continually improve software deployment practices to ensure iterative releases and rapid deployment of updates to our customers across all platforms
  • Monitor system performance and resolve any issues or failures in staging or production environments
  • Contribute to DAZN's technical strategy, setting project goals, helping to support and develop the team


  • In-depth knowledge of Node.js
  • Commercial experience working in a cloud-based environment (preferred AWS)
  • Experience with relational / non-relational databases
  • Experience designing and building REST APIs
  • Knowledge of asynchronous processing (queues / multithreading / multiprocessing)
  • Willingness to support engineering teams and manage technical dependencies and challenges
  • Familiarity with Scrum / Agile
  • A natural leader who likes to lead by example, humble and great communicator
  • Fluent in English


  • Knowledge of AWS and services such as S3, ECS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, ECS, API Gateway, Elasticache, Cloudfront
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as a code (experience with Terraform / CloudFormation)
  • Knowledge of TypeScript
  • Knowledge of Node.js design patterns such as dependency injection / inversion of control
  • Knowledge of ElasticSearch
  • Knowledge of Serverless framework
  • Familiar with experimental delivery model
