As DAZN expands, it offers you the opportunity to work on a broad range of matters, obtain great experience & support working in a team of lawyers from different legal backgrounds, and take on more responsibility as the business grows – giving you the opportunity to develop the role and make it your own!

Benefits include access to DAZN, 25 days’ annual leave (increasing by 3 days after 3 years), annual performance-related bonus, private medical insurance, life assurance, pension contributions up to 5%, family friendly community, free access for you and one other to our workplace mental health platform app (Unmind), learning and development resources, opportunity for flexible working and access to our internal speaker series and events.

As our new Associate Legal Counsel, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Review, negotiate and draft a wide variety of contracts falling within the auspices of the team (with assistance from other members of the team, where necessary). You might for instance - prepare a format licence for DAZN Studio’s Original Programming / onboard a new testing service for our developers / enable our service to be included on a partner’s new platform / advise on a supplier’s terms as part of an RFP process.
  • Support business teams in respect of our global service, which will include - staying abreast of regulatory & legislative changes affecting certain markets / assessing their impact and manage any compliance or mitigation steps / advise on the customer sign-up journey and the T&Cs / support the Product team on the development and implementation of new functionalities
  • Provide support across all aspects of the Commercial, Distribution & Regulatory Legal Team and advise on day to day queries that arise.
  • Create and update company policies & effectively communicate these to business teams.

You’ll be set up for success if you have:

  • Qualified as a lawyer and have around 0-3 years of PQE (although this is only a guide, and significant weight will be given to the factors below) working in a highly successful and recognised commercial and/or media team either in private practice or in-house.
  • Experience of negotiating and drafting commercial contracts, technology contracts and/or copyright licences.
  • An ability to build meaningful & trusted relationships with stakeholders in order to be an integral business partner.
  • Experience of managing legal projects, and directly advising stakeholders on relevant matters.
  • Strong technical legal skills (relative to PQE), especially an ability to draft clearly & concisely.
  • Highly commercial and constructive problem-solving abilities and able to work with a good degree of autonomy, taking the initiative and proactively managing tasks.
  • A willingness to operate out of your comfort zone and play a proactive role in developing DAZN's legal function.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience working in an international company and/or for a rapid growth, scale up business
  • Exposure to on content distribution deals via the internet
