What's your new role about?

At DAZN, we broadcast 7,000 live sports events annually and create unique content like analytical shows, player interviews and highlights. We are looking for a Production Assistant to join our team in Japan to help produce broadcasts and shows.

This role is for someone who wants to support TV directors and eventually become a director themselves. Ideal candidates are interested in directing sports broadcasts, producing studio shows and creating sports programs, VTR projects and documentaries. Experience in negotiating, researching and editing content is highly valued.

As our new Production Assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with the production coordination team to support all production activities and program planning
  • Master cloud-based scheduling and workflow management software to confirm distribution schedules.
  • Assist producers and directors.
  • Input text for graphics, create video clips, and upload content to the cloud.
  • Driving continuous improvement, focusing on delivering improvements in the quality of DAZN's content and services
  • Analyse viewing trends and apply data to production
  • Working a flexible schedule - ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Shooting and editing video content

You’ll have:

  • Balanced and objective judgment with a strong understanding of editing standards with experience with Adobe Premiere or similar software
  • Passion, knowledge, and interest in sports (specialization in a particular sport is preferred)
  • Creative thinking with interest in shooting and editing videos
  • Commitment to continual self-improvement with a willingness to learn and use new technologies like video streaming
  • Team player with a supportive attitude towards colleagues and supervisors
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and deliver to set budgets, prioritising tasks, setting goals and meeting strict deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external partners, with proficiency in English conversation (or other languages like Spanish) desirable
  • Background in video production or broadcasting, experience as an AD in program production is preferred
