Frontend Software Engineer
Here at DAZN we broadcast hundreds of live sporting events each week, around the clock, and require scalable, reliable, solutions that form the backbone of our platform.
We have an exciting Frontend Engineering opportunity within Living Room here at DAZN.
DAZN is growing rapidly; growth within the team and opportunities to lead engineering initiatives are abundant. We need people who are happy to take ownership, enjoy solving complex problems and want to help us build a strong engineering culture of fun and inclusivity.
We’re now mostly a remote team, with only occasional office visits (post-covid) so we can get together, socialise, and meet other people in the flesh. On average we'd expect teams to meet up a few times a month.
Teams are typically made up of around 5-8 Engineers, a Product Manager, Scrum Master and an Engineering manager supported by a Principal engineers. Our team are a group from various and diverse backgrounds, we tend to have a flat structure within a team as everyone brings something different and has different experiences and knowledge. The team you will be joining is currently in charge of the catalogue chapter that is a large component of the TV app and help create the DAZN App that runs on various devices such as PS5, LG TV’s, Android living room devices (e.g. Fire Stick) and so on.
We work using Agile and XP practices such as Scrum and Kanban and all work together in or own TV room.
You would be picking items up from the backlog and working on them usually in the form of pair programming; working towards delivering to acceptance criteria and the teams Definition of Done, the app is built mostly using React and vanilla JS.
Aside from the day to day work you'll be part of refinement, planning retros and helping both your team and DAZN as a whole be a great place to work, our culture is very important to us and we want everyone to help define and drive it.
