What's your new role about?

This is a key role to Broadcast Operations, which will report to the Head of Transmission.  The successful candidate will be the owner of all process improvement projects, representing the Transmission and Presentation teams.  They will lead a team of subject matter experts (SMEs) from both transmission and presentation, and will work enthusiastically to drive improvements to existing processes. They will take ownership of projects, to safeguard the operation during the roll-out of important changes to the broadcast technology infrastructure. 
 
With a proven track record of managing teams, the successful candidate will be a process driven creative thinker, who understands that there are no prizes for having the largest headcount. 
They will be a self-starter -identifying improvement requirements.  The ability to prioritise projects and tasks independently will be expected.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • To be responsible for a team of Broadcast Subject Matter Experts who represent the end users of their areas of expertise. 
  • Be the main point of contact for Transmission and Presentation related projects. 
  • With an efficiency mindset, work with Department Heads and Team Leaders to identify gaps in process, to bring tangible improvement to service. 
  • Work with Project teams to define roll out plans for changes to technology and process. 
  • Be responsible for training of new processes and compilation of run books. 
  • Report project status to key stakeholders. 
  • Maintain their technical knowledge of themselves and their team of SMEs. 

You’ll be set up for success if you have:

  • Minimum of three years direct line management experience. 
  • Proactive approach to problem solving. 
  • Demonstratable, enthused, expert knowledge of broadcast workflows and systems. 
  • Strong understanding of OTT transmission. 
  • Strong understanding of advertising processes, including DAI.  
  • Experience in operating Media Genix What’s On. 
  • Strong understanding of media management and delivery workflows. 
  • Hands on experience of working in a live sport broadcast environment. 
  • Ability to review and document technical workflow diagrams 
  • Demonstratable experience of delivering broadcast projects from an end user perspective. 
  • Excellent communication skills and proven senior stakeholder management.

  • Project Management Qualification. 
  • Flexibility to travel to engage with stakeholders and vendors. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio. 
  • Knowledge of Confluence/Jira.
