Engineering Manager– DAZN X
WHAT'S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?
We are looking for a distinguished Engineering Manager who will be responsible for leading the development of our forthcoming user engagement features. You should have a great passion for building teams and working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
The R&D group is building and delivering the enablement platform for the current and next generation of media experiences in the fields of personalization, content interaction, and social interaction, all of which are at the core of DAZN's value proposition.
Key parts of the workflow are ingestion, transcoding of various video and audio live/VOD assets, personalized processing, and distribution across the world to end-users, while allowing collaboration among users, all in real-time. This group is taking full responsibility for providing end-to-end social interactions functionalities on multiple platforms including web, smart TVs, iOS, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox.
AS OUR NEW SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER, YOU’LL BE:
Coordinating with various stakeholders that span the systems breadth and depth.
Contributing to the technical strategy and collaborate with key stakeholders to influence the product outcome both for long- and short-term goals.
Making delivery-focused decisions to ensure we meet our commitments.
Mentoring and inspiring team members that work in various locations and time zones.
Creating a culture of freedom and responsibility that shines through quality and on-time delivery.
Driving excellence across engineering teams by supporting modern software engineering practices.
Recruiting and inducting new members of your team.
YOU’LL BE SET UP FOR SUCCESS IF YOU HAVE:
Previous position involving managing engineers.
A strong ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and different time zones.
Excellent interpersonal and language skills to facilitate smooth communication.
A technical background with hands-on experience as a software engineer.
Strong skills in prioritization and project management as well as an understanding of business impact for various solutions.
A flexible, calm, and proactive approach.
EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE:
Previous experience working with a complex software system.
Experience working in startups as well as established companies.
An integrative, positive, and empathetic personality.
